They begin the tour in support of their new CD “ Brand New Day,” in six days which will take them all over Canada and the United States.

Prevail noted the new CD is a family affair as not only did they not recruit  any special guests to perform on the CD like they often do, but even include producer/ DJ Rob the Viking’s daughter singing the hook on the debut single and title track.

“I’m really, really proud of this CD and I’m sure Madchild and Rob would share that sentiment,” said Prevail, laughing  “Like Madonna and Cher, only not as rich.”

He noted the new CD is a more mature effort that shows off each members’ individual voices  but will still appeal to fans of the group’s unique take on darker subject matter.

“ This is our time to be who we are and it’s  refreshing. It shows how we are maturing but not letting go of the things our fans like about us,” he continued.
He noted a lot of the lyrics reflect their love for Los Angeles and their team and fans they have in Southern California.

“ We’re a proud  Canadians and proud to be from Vancouver, but by no means do we want to  just focus on being from one region,” he continued.

“ It’s nice. It has come full circle. We want to tell people that we’re still here, we aren’t going anywhere, and that we still believe and don’t lose faith,” he said even though they have their individual projects still going on, the Swollen Members are still doing what they do.

“We have a lot to talk abut,” he said adding they have reformed their record label Battleaxe Records.

“That was always Madchild’s baby when we were first putting out our first 12 inches, we needed a way to put them out, he said adding Madchild will be working with Suburban Noize Records co-owner Kevin Zinger.

“ Now it’s  back it will be exciting. It will be like a phoenix rising from the ashes,” Prevail enthused adding they will be  starting to sign other musicians as well.
“ The great thing about it is these are not people who are just there for the paycheque, they are music lovers. They all really care abut the bands,” he said.

They are excited about touring, particularly in the United States again.

“This is the first time in may years we’ve toured the U.S. as a core. So we’ll  have lots of fun playing places like Chicago and New York again.  And of curse seeing our people in Los Angeles. And we have a great following in Salt Lake City and Colorado,” he said.
They are also excited about  returning to Lethbridge.
“It’s going to be awesome,” he promised.
“ We’ll play some of the songs from the new CD. We’ll put on a show for our fans. It all has a brand new feel,” he said.
Advance tickets for the April 29 show at Studio 54 cost $30. The show begins at 9 p.m.
