Local bands  raised $2,343 for Lethbridge firefighters charities with a day long fundraiser at Smokehouse, Aug. 23.

I only caught the first couple of acts including Driving While Blind's Frank  Gutjahr and Vic Brown playing a set of acoustic blues.

But the main one I wanted to see was  Curt Young, playing one of his last local shows before he moves to Edmonton.

Young played a set of acoustic folk and blues inspired originals from all of his CDs including his most recent with Jamie Medicine Crane.

“ Don’t Text Me ” was a highlight as was a couple from the new CD.

I especially enjoyed an older song “ Running Away Tonight.”
