A variety of entertainment from children’s music to western swing happening this week

There is  lots of live music coming up as we come out of the long weekend. A usual, there is a weekly  comedy open mic on Tuesdays, and a Wednesday night open mic at Beaches and a Thursday open mic at the Slice.Tyler Allen and the Red Hot Hayseeds return to the Slice, Sept. 12.  Live music is back at Honker’s Pub as TJ Waltho and Keenan Pezderic aka Shallow Lilac plan an instrumental show at the popular north side venue, Sept. 11 at  8 p.m.
 Weather permitting it will be on the patio. Admission is $10, with eight dollars going to the band and two dollars being donated to  Lethbridge Firefighters’ charities.


Cat Storm performs at the Slice, Sept. 11 as well.


 For something a little different The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association Features A Taste of Mexico to Go, Sept. 11. Tickets are $20 to get special Mexican meals to take home.
And roast battles return to Good Times, Sept. 11 as defending champion  Brian Dawydiuk will be taking on contenders  Jordi Bott, Faris Hytia, Liam Connel and Nicooooo. Admission is $20 for the show, which begins at 9 p.m.

 Saturday begins early at 1 p.m. when the Lethbridge Community Taiko Association return to the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. The performance is free with the nine dollar admission to the park.

 Right after that, bring the kids  out to Legacy Park for Lethbridge’s own tribute to Sharon, Lois and Bram— Karen, Lewis and Pam ( Jillian Bracken, Ashley Thomson and Gabe Thaine) , who will perform children’s hits from 2-4 pm. admission is free for the Socially Distanced Elephant Show.
 Bassist Steve Martin and drummer Keenan Pezderic will be joining the show.


Edmonton comedian Alex Fortin will provide the laughs at Good Times, Sept. 12, for two shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.
Local improv troupe Impromptu presents Lip Sync Roulette through Didi’s Playhaus, Sept.  12 for a special outdoor show.  Get your tickets in advance for $10 and you will be provided with the address.


The Slice is excited to bring back Red Deer country/folk/western swing  musician Tyler Allen and the Red Hot Hayseeds, Sept. 12. If you can’t make that show, they will be back Oct. 3 with Boots and the Hoots. But before that, the Slice is  hosting an afternoon jam from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12.


 The Owl Acoustic Lounge is also starting to have live music on their outdoor patio on weekends from 8-10 p.m. Stay tuned for details.
