Several musicians were playing country music for a country in need, May 21 at the Yates Theatre. Approximately 80 people saw Alyssa McQuaid, Trevor Panczac, Duane Steele and organizer Sean Hogan playing to raise money for the Red Cross to donate to victims of the earthquake in Haiti back in January.

Hogan played Country for a Country in Need at the Yates Theatre, May 21.

Sean Hogan came on next, and whilst fighting with guitar problems, complained he had lost his voice, but said he was going to ‘suck it up’  and promised  he’d be back to play  Lethbridge again in June,  Alyssa McQuaid played a strong set. Photo by Richard Amerytentatively set for June 17.

He said  those who brought their ticket stubs to the show could get in for free.
Most wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t said he was having voice troubles.

He delivered capable versions of some of his big hits ‘Catalina Sunrise’ and ‘A Cowboy’s Heart,’ which has a line about Lethbridge in it. He also sang a couple songs he wrote about his daughters including a new hit single as well as a couple new ones before ending with ‘Suck It Up Buttercup.’

Duane Steele returned to the stage to play a couple songs inspired by his new son and then invited Trevor Panczac back to help out on a duet of country hit “Good Hearted Woman in Love with A Good Timing Man.’
