It was an excellent night of local music at the Slice, Friday, March 18.

The Scott  Davidson band, featuring Chinook High School teacher  Scott Davidson and  some younger members, played an array of classic rock including some Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd’s “Money” plus a few more country tinged original music.

The Bridgette Yarwood band was all about popular  rock and country hits. They are playing Casino Lethbridge this weekend, March 25 and 26.

They expanded their set a little, giving all of the band members including new drummer Raz Bruce  to shine.

They began with Gretchen Wilson”s “Here for the Party,” as usual. Bridgette Yarwood Belted out CCR’s “ Born on the Bayou” while guitarist Mel Gaydos   sang Pagliaro’s “What the Hell I Got.”

Bassist Ian Morrice sang Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly” and a couple others.

A little later Raz Bruce took centre stage to rasp out “Cover of the Rolling Stone” while Yarwood took a seat behind the skins.

Yarwood crooned a soulful version of the Zutons/ Amy Winehouse’s  “Valerie” and “Bring it On Home To Me.”

She also sang a beautiful version of “ You Make Me Feel like a Natural Woman.”

It was back to Gretchen Wilson after that for“ Redneck Woman.”
