Opening night, July 7 featured local singer songwriter John Wort Hannam and his band including upright bassist Jason Valleau, drummer Kyle Harmon and keyboardist Steve Fletcher.

He played a solid second set, though still recovering from the after-effects of covid.

He had stories to tell and lots of new music including several from his latest CD “ Long Haul.”

Hannam’s honest, optimistic personality shone throughout his set as he talked about his father dying of cancer during Covid, as he introduced “ Young At Heart,” which he played for him before he died.

He played several songs inspired by his son and told a few amusing anecdotes about fatherhood.

He wound up his show with one of his more popular numbers,  “Love Lives On.”

The Eric Braun band play the next upside Downtown  concert at Casa, on Thursday, 5-7 p.m.
