Get the blues in Galt Gardens with The Lethbridge Jazz and Blues festival’s Jazz And Blues in the Park. , Saturday, Sept. 10.
Juno award winning nominated singer/ songwriter Joann Borromeo is top first at 2 p.m. followed by local funk favourites Adequate, Calgary bluesman Steve Pineo is on at 5 p.m and fellow Calgarians Natural twenty groove at 6:30 p.m. There will be food trucks and a beer garden and much more.
At the other end of the city, there is fun for thew whole Family as the Allied Arts council winds up their Arts in the Park summer concert series with kids in the park in Legacy Park.
The band formerly known as Karen Lewis and Pam perform at noon.
And get a head start on October with Oktoberfest, Sept. 9 and 10 which returns to it’s original home outside the Telegraph Taphouse. Tickets are $12.62-$16.93

The Owl Acoustic Lounge’s Tuesday open mic features Brandon based roots rock musician Mitchell Makoons.
The Slice has an eclectic show, Wednesday, Sept 7 with Spencer Jo, folk band Ghostly Hounds and Wily Big Bull. There is a $15 cover.
Calgary based singer songwriter Marcus Trummer returns to the Slice, Friday, Sept. 9.
Dust off those zoos suits, poodle skirts for Rebel Angels‘ ’50s sock hop at the Slice, Sept. 10.. There is a $10 cover. Get warmed up with a n pen jive/ wing dance lesson at 8 p.m. until before show time.
It is a busy night at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Sept. 9. Leeroy Stagger and his band play an early show at 6 p.m.. Tickets are $25. Later on, check out a local rock and roll double header with Hell Diablo at 9:30 p.m. and Taylor Ackerman’s Global Acid Reset on at 11.. Admission is by donation.

Down the road, classic rock favourites The Chevelles return to the Place to play a fundraiser for Sept. 9. Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
The Plaid Ramblers have been playing a lot over the past month. They return to the Duke on Sept. 10. The Plaid Ramblers’ Luke James Bruce returns to host Mojo’s open mic on Monday.
The Trippy Hippys host Honkers Pub’s open mic, Sept. 9. The mark Hall band return to host Honkers’ Saturday afternoon open mic at 5 p.m. Sept. 10.
Country band Border Bound hold court at Casino Lethbridge , Sept. 9 and 10.
It’s an excellent week for local comedy.
The Owl Acoustic Lounge’s month comedy open mic is. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Good Times features pro amateur night on Thursday. Local comedian Faris Hytiaa returns to the Good Times stage on Friday, Sept. 9.
An important ukulele jam is at Casa , Sunday, Sept. 11 in the community room . Attendance will determine whether thee monthly jams will continue in that location. The music is between 2-3 p.m.
Things start quickly next week as Saskatchewan’s Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys play the Slice on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Admission is $13,75
