Why not celebrate Oktoberfest in September?

The Pogo Brothers brought their Oktoberfest  celebration back to their roots — in Festival Square outside of Telegraph.

Friday, Sept. 9 and 10 was the first night of the popular local festival.

Chilly weather didn’t  stop a lot of the patrons from breaking out their best lederhosen and German hats, as they drank delicious German beer and danced up the dust.

The weather was chilly, but the band was cool, heating top the night and getting toes tapping with a touch of German culture.

Alpen Schatz provided the soundtrack with plenty of oopah pah music   powered by plenty of brass, bass, drums and accordion.

They had a lot of fun on stage, which the audience picked up on.

Alien Schatz will be back at Spectrum Brewery on Oct. 1 and playing the German Canadian Club for an Oct. 15 dinner and dance.
