The Slice welcomed  Calgary based rock band the Hi Tops to cap off a night of local country and ’60s rock music, Nov. 25.

While I missed The Decadent Phase and Chris Drew, I was in time for an intense set of contemporary rock and roll along the lines of Buck Cherry, the Dirty Nil and a touch of AC DC.

They also had a few Guns n Roses moments.

Overall they had a strong early 2000s alternative rock feel to them. They played a tight set of original music which had a touch of Jimi Hendrix and punk energy.

They played.  big, loud , catchy riffs and a few striking solos.
