Deep Dark Woods return with organ powered country fun

E-mail Print PDF

Another full house danced the night away with  Saskatoon roots/country group the Deep Dark Woods at the Slice, June 19.The Deep Dark Woods set down a hypnotic country groove. Photo by Richard Amery
While they had a lot of great country roots hooks, the organ and piano made this show for me.

Throughout they set down a cool country groove which immediately appealed to the audience

They played a few tender, slower country ballads but also showed they could rock the place and then some.

They were enjoying themselves on stage, whether playing tender ballads, extended jams or rocking it on stage, their enthusiasm and energy  rubbed off on the audience.
