Poet/ eccentric folk singer C. R Avery returns to the Slice, Oct. 30 and there are several bands playing Average Joes for Hallowe’en including Fist City, the Myelin Sheaths, Sharp Ends and the  Bash Brothers.
 Tickets cost eight dollars.

Other haunting highlights include a David Bowie night at the Owl Acoustic Lounge where  local performers will be dressing as their favourite Bowie characters and playing his hits.

A show I just found out about is at Bo Diddley’s on the north side who feature local metal band Caste of Shadows and grunge rockers Double Jack, Oct. 30. As a special bonus, Lethbridge’s own burlesque duo, the Brazen Hussies will be performing as well.

Both Scores have different bands on Oct. 30 as well with 2 Cubic Feet at Scores South and the Bamboo Guppies performing at Scores North.
And the Necessities will be playing Pops Pub South , Oct. 30 as well.

There is a variety of music going on Oct. 29. Local community, alternative radio station CKXU is warming up for their annual Fundrive by combining music and art at the NAAG Gallery with Synthesisia.

Several bands, including Lustre Creame, Johnny Greenshields, Kaoss Lesbots and Floods will be performing while local artists will be creating art inspired by their music simultaneously during the show.

Admission is two dollars or a donation to the Lethbridge Food bank.  There is a variety of cover music as well this weekend with Paul Kype and Texas Flood at Casino Lethbridge this weekend and Fast Times at HB’S Lounge.

A big mid-week show is Juno award winning folk/country singer Lynn Miles, who will be performing with Prairie Oyster guitarist Keith Glass, Oct. 28 at the Slice. Another  big one on Oct. 27 is Austin based singer/ songwriter Slaid Cleaves, who will be playing  the Geomatic Attic. The Geomattic Attic is also bringing back  Po Girl for a Halloween show.

The other big Halloween show  features Chief Mountain and Leon Twig, which is a rebranded Dean Selena featuring Leigh Doerksen on guitar and vocals.

For classic rockers, Kenny Sheilds and Streetheart are back at Average Joes, Friday, Oct. 29.
Another big weekend show is the return of Vancouver indie pop band Hey Ocean to the Slice, Oct. 29.
Another exciting show take place Nov. 1, when The Rural Alberta Advantage return to the Slice with  Pepper Rabbit and Imaginary Cities.

The next  day, Australian piano powered indie pop band the Jezabels are playing the Slice with Two Hours Traffic. The Jezabels are touring Canada in  support of their third EP, “Dark Storm” released  at the beginning of the month. They get regular radio airplay in Australia for thier single “Hurt Me,” from last year’s EP “She’s So Hard.
