Driving While Blind are the new blues band rocking the block

It is always fun to hear a new band playing blues in Lethbridge, so I had to go across town to Jimmy’s Brasserie for the second gig of Driving While Blind, who often play the increasingly Jimmy’s popular Friday night jam.Driving While Blind playing Jimmy’s Brasserie. Photo by Richard Amery

They played a rocking and tight set of familiar blues rock including the Rolling Stones “I Used To Love Her,”  and a touching version of  Eric Clapton‘s “Wonderful Tonight,” which had a few dancing in the aisles.

They added laid back versions of surf classic “Misirlou” and “Suzie Q.” They also played a beautiful version of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “The Sky is Crying,” with a beautiful tasteful solo.
While the crowd  started to trickle out, they  promised to “get a little crazy,”  but wound things down with ZZ Top’s “Tush.”
