It was rock and roll night at Studio 54, June 28 with a high energy show from Age of Days and Jonas and the Massive Attraction.

 I arrived near the end of  a technical difficulty plagued set from Toronto based rockers Age of Days.
 Despite problems with the PA system, the band powered through a set of big beefy riffs and scorching guitar solos.

 While lead vocalist Tim Morrison looked  a little perturbed, the lead guitarist Brent Alvey took out his frustrations on his axe, jumping off stage and into the screaming audience, hair flying everywhere.
They blasted through a set of radio hits including “Wrecking Ball,” and ended their set with their latest single “ I Did it For Love.”

Jonas and the Massive Attraction played in a  similar vein, playing loud, detuned riffs and lots of high energy and melody.

 They put on a big show  for the smaller room, full of big riffs, throbbing bass and massive hits like “Big Slice.” They also tried out some new music and crashed into Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of 17,” to rock their set to a close.
 They were called back for an encore.
