Edmonton doom rock/ stoner rock punk band Rebuild /Repair make their first visit to Lethbridge, May 1 when they play Inferno with Medicine Hat metal band Ohmwar.

“ I usually describe us as Black Flag meets Black Sabbath because that’s usually common ground for a lot of people,” said frontman/ guitarist Randall Graves.

“ But there’s a lot more in there like Poison Idea and Eye Hate God. There’s punk and stoner metal,” he said adding band mates bassist  Jason W. Goodall- and drummer Kelly Doiron combined a lot of heavy influences.
“Everybody wanted to play something different, so I  wanted to make everybody happy so we mashed it together,” he said.

They released a CD “ Damage Stories ” last year”, with the description  on Bandcamp “ This album almost killed me”

“It was a lot of work. We worked on it over a lot of weekends after the day jobs and then spent a lot of evenings mixing it,” he said.
“But I’m pretty pleased with it. There’s little things I’d like to fix on it,” he said adding he wanted to put a lot of different ideas into all of the songs, which range between  just over a minute long to “ the Sound of Wandering Through” which clocks in at 6:06.

“ Most of them are about  three or four minutes long though,” he said.

He is pleased to play with Medicine Hat’s Ohmwar, who they played with at a show in Medicine Hat.

“They’re a great band and  lot of fun to play with,” he said adding Rebuild/Repair’s music is pretty dark.
“ I”m writing about a lot of personal things like dealing with depression. It’s not for everyone,” he said.
