Jolene Draper and Steve Martin return to the Slice

One of my local favourites, Jolene Draper accompanied by Steve Martin, made a  long awaited return to the stage at the Slice, March 18.

Draper strummed acoustic guitar and beautifully sang an array or originals, jazz tinged original songs plus her take on classic hits like Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock,” Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee” and a couple of Jefferson Airplane songs including “ Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit.”

She wound down her set with a couple of ’80s moments  including Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In the Dark,” and “99 Red Balloons.”

She ended on a ’90 note with the Spin Doctors’ “Two Princes.”
