Miss Quincy isn't just another pretty face with a guitar. Did I mention she can sing? Her voice is a welcome change from the overproduced, synthesized female drones filling commercial airwaves these days. It has character and bite, like a good cigar." - The Calgary Beacon

Miss Quincy does not fit the classic Singer/Songwriter mold. She plays guitar like she practices and sings songs like she means them. “Bringing a sense of the renegade women of the old West mixed with a modern independence of spirit, her extraordinary clear voice and well-crafted, memorable songs range through bluegrass and barroom blues, gypsy jazz, and something that is all of the above and yet something unique.” (Backroads Music, UK). Tipping her hat to earlier times and the rugged northern beauty that has been the backdrop of her life, Miss Quincy draws inspiration from the pioneering women who came before, the blues ladies of the 1930s, dirty guitar licks, and sweet gospel harmonies.

Miss Quincy is of a new breed of DIY musician who is fiercely independent and committed to a grassroots music approach. Performing solo, as a duo, and with a band, she has taken her Canadiana stylings all across Canada and Europe. So far in 2011 Miss Quincy has ventured across the ocean for her second independently booked European tour (made possible by a touring grant from the BC Arts Council), been awarded Folk/Traditional Recording of The Year at the 2011 BC Interior Music Awards, and opened for the likes of Tim Williams and Fred Eaglesmith. Showing no signs of stopping or slowing down, Miss Quincy will spend the summer playing festivals, bar rooms, street corners, and living rooms along the Canadian road before recording a new album this fall and winter.

Miss Quincy's debut album, Your Mama Don't Like Me, is a testament to her grassroots gypsy blues spirit. The recording of the album took place in Miss Quincy's cabin in Northern BC during a cold snap where temperatures dropped below -40 degrees. If you listen closely you may just hear the crackling of a wood stove or the swish of a whiskey bottle. Your Mama Don’t Like Me has received acclaim both in Canada and abroad, recently charting in the top five Folk/Roots/Blues category in Exclaim! magazine. “This is an album that could easily slip into legend, like "The Campfire Tapes" (FATEA Magazine, UK)
