Josh Ramsay
Mike Ayley
Matt Webb
Ian Casselman

Welcome to Ever After. A fairytale and a single, 54 minute track stitched from 12 discrete songs—the most audacious songs Marianas Trench has ever crafted. Ever After is constructed around a story written by Ramsay himself and then finessed into an accompanying booklet. It’s an actual physical experience; a warm throwback to the album era when your music was more than a bunch of orphaned songs sit
ting on an endless iPod playlist.

It’s also the project that captures Marianas Trench at a soaring artistic peak. After the breakthrough of Masterpiece Theatre in 2009 and a lot of ensuing months on the road, Ramsay and bandmates Ian Casselman, Mike Ayley, and Matt Webb were eager to start recording again. They finally settled into Ramsay’s studio to begin work on their next theatrical masterpiece by the end of 2010.

“All the songs live on their own as songs, but they also serve the purpose of telling the story throughout the record,” he explains. As for the seamless hour-long symphony he constructed, Ramsay adds, “I wanted to do that on the last record but as a writer I wasn’t ready. I had to step it up, which is also why I decided to produce Ever After on my own. If this is all gonna tie together, then you really need to see it through yourself.”

Down With Webster http://www.downwithwebster.com

As long as any of us can remember, all we wanted to do was make music. While we came from different backgrounds, found inspiration from different influences, and developed different styles; we were united by our love of music. It’s the reason we saved all of our money to buy albums, memorized every word, learned each chord, bass line and beat. It’s the reason we spent all of our time together writing, playing and producing in a garage. It’s the reason we sleep in the studio and live on stage.

Down With Webster officially formed for a junior high talent show (we won). Since then, we have played more concerts than we can count (hundreds and hundreds). Every show is a party and we dare the audience to have more fun than us (usually it’s a tie).

Anami Vice

Imagine if Robbie Williams were trapped inside a “rapper”, never dated the chick from
All Saints, and decided to take on a new direction and genre. Anami Vice’s songs,
while undeniably of the hip-hop variety, are known for infectious hooks and being heard
as “songs” rather than “tracks”. At times sarcastic, Vice’s tone is nevertheless optimistic.
His lyrics are cleverly disguised confessions, the contents of which most can relate to.
Therefore, if the listener does ever make it past a chorus, (and they might not) there is
plenty more song to explore. Vice has quietly crafted his third studio album; however,
having recently signed to 604/Universal Records, this latest project will mark his first
commercial release.

Along with his band “The New Future”, Anami’s live show has developed a reputation
for charged up renditions of the studio tracks using a solid back up of instrumentation.
He avoids the typical rap bravado, preferring to use his smile and wit to connect with
an audience. The show gears up quickly and doesn’t slow down to drop you off. Vice
flawlessly reproduces his vocals without a backtrack and as he would put it, “no hype-
man”.

Self described as “reluctant to make rap music”, Anami Vice prefers boots and a collar
to Air Force Ones. Moreover, he has found a way to be hip-hop without becoming a
cliché.
