We go way back in time to the 17th century with favourites such as Handel and Purcell, and perform Rosenmuller for the first time, a prolific German composer. Then Janet Youngdahl, soprano, George Evelyn, bass-baritone and Colleen Klassen, harpsichord, will join Musaeus in its first operatic adventure as they present a semi-staged version of the delightful early 18th-century opera miniature La Serva Padrona, by Giovanni Pergolesi. This comic work is designed to play with the concepts of love and entrapment and includes a special appearance by actor Doug MacArthur.
