Now in its fifteenth year, Kids Choir is a fantastic opportunity for school choirs to sing with members of the Lethbridge Orchestra. Choirs submit the selections they wish to perform, and our talented group of arrangers go to work to orchestrate the piano accompaniment for chamber orchestra. Over 130 choirs and 6500 students have participated so far, and this will be the fifth year Kids Choir is presented in collaboration with the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music as part of their Feel the Beat series.

This year’s concerts will have a theme – Holidays and Traditions – where we will celebrate different customs from across Canada and around the world. It is a new twist on this popular program, and one that we hope will celebrate the many cultures that make up our Southern Alberta communities. We ask that each group choose their music with the theme in mind – one piece to highlight the variety of customs around Canada, and one drawn from folk traditions around the world. As is the tradition, we will end the evening with a rousing mass choir version of We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

Please note :: All ‘fans’ require a ticket to ensure we do not over-fill the space. Each student will be allotted a maximum of two tickets at a cost of $5 each, which will be distributed through each school. Any additional tickets will be available at the door.
