Lustre Creame’s Aaron Trozzo goes psychedelic. Photo by Richard AmeryLustre Creame premiered their video for “Where Do I Go From Here” off their brand new CD at the Slice, Aug. 3.

They had a pretty close to full house, to hear several bands on the bill for the video debut and the CD release.

While I missed Clockwork Towns, I caught probably the first show from the Yeah Dads, a local band including Brenna Lowrie on drums. They played a solid set of laid back ’60s style garage rock including a 13th Floor Elevators cover.

Lustre Creame always impress me by how well they play when they’re as drunk as they are.

They played a lot of intricate guitar and bass riffs, but vocally were more along the lines of Alice and Chains and Tool. They played a lot of their older numbers and a couple from  the new CD including “Where Do I Go From Here.”

They had a psychedelic light show flashing on the screen behind them for their set which seemed all to brief, but had boundless energy as usual.

They video, featuring a familiar face — mine, playing a crazy religious homeless guy who gets hit in the neck with a dart and has a vision of Jesus played by Lustre Creame drummer Chris Lipinski, evoked a lot of laughs from the audience, watching  lead guitarist Aaron Trozzo, playing a kidnapper, chasing bassist Geoff Orriss all over the city.
