They may have been going at it for over thirty years but the Ripcordz
are still one of Canada's most impressive punk bands, and a show that no
one will want to miss. They will be making their first stop in
Lethbridge since 2006. The Lethbridge date is the third and final stop
of their Western Canada tour. Special guests include the Motherfuckers,
Royal Red Brigade, and the Reckless Rebels. Advance tickets will be
available July 25th through Blueprint and Deathbridge Disease. $15 in
advance $20 at the door.

Punk Rock'll change the world!
The Ripcordz haven’t been around forever -- it just seems that way.
Formed in 1980. Since then, they’ve released a dozen full-length albums, gone on 13 cross-Canada tours and played well over two thousand shows (they stopped counting a while back).
The sound includes a mix of rock ‘n roll, hardcore, Punk and pop
(mostly Punk, we’d say). They like to describe it as a glob of
distortion that bursts out of your speakers and soils the rug so your
parents have to clean it up. (The band likes to say that, but the record
company wishes they would stop…)
They are currently working on a new album, and also plan a
Christmas album just in time for the holidaze.
Paul describes it this way: “We may be an old band, but we’re playing
new music. Once we become our own cover band, I’m gonna quit and take up
knitting or politics or something...”
Royal Red Brigade
Royal Red Brigade delivers an explosive brand of Punk Rock N’ Roll from the cold, dead heart of the Canadian Prairies. They are
influenced by classic bands of punk, garage and rock lore, as well as
by the innovative, genre-defying spirit of contemporary incarnations
like the Bronx, The Murder City Devils, and the Hives. Their musical
catalogue: Out of the Trenches (2010), Give into the Violence (2012),
and Seasides (2014), demonstrates a variety of dynamic, dark sonic
atmospheres. From frantic to frightening, the band’s recorded works
exhibit depth and diversity, anchored by the band’s truly unified and
distinct sound. Equally energetic on stage, Royal Red Brigade also have
extensive touring and live show experience, having embarked on multiple
national and international tours, and with appearances at festivals such
as Montreal’s Pouzza Fest in 2013, and a headlining spot at Saskatoon’s
Omfest in 2014. They have also supported many notable acts at home,
including DOA, The Flatliners, SNFU, Cobra Skulls, and many more. The
band truly values authenticity, both in the creative expression of song,
and in the communities that cultivate subversive art forms. Backed only
by independent label support and a vicious DIY drive, Royal Red Brigade
are ready to enact their plans for world domination. Destroy!!!
