Kabuki Guns Burlesque  — http://www.myspace.com/kabukigunsburlesque

The KGB was never this much fun! Forget about all those big fur hats and sour pusses! Calgary's premier and original burlesque troupe was born in January of 2003 to instructor/choreographer Bunny Bunnotzi, and Kabuki Guns Burlesque has been movin', shimmyin' and shakin' all over ever since.

Reminiscent of the world's first bellydancer come burlesque star Little Egypt, the troupe's founder is a classically trained bellydancer extraordinaire. Mesmerizing Calgary's unsuspecting diners by night, and instructing her hip shakin' mamas in the fine art by day, she has truly made a living for the last 13 years using those hips. Bunny Bunnotzi has, unfortunately for us, taken off to the other side of the world to entertain European audiences once again. Don't worry though, she'll be back...

Though there are many faces and interpretations of burlesque, the KGB's mission is to bring an "authentic as possible without having actually been there ourselves" (jeez, we're not THAT old) peek at the sultry and saucy art form affectionately known as the "striptease" to our audiences.

With a teeny bit of a history lesson at the start of each show (it's an educational program don't ya know?!) Kabuki Guns Burlesque aims to bring the audience back in time to an era when there was still a little mystery, a little intrigue left to sex and sexuality. Think the dirty jazz, gangster ridden naughtiness of 1930's prohibition times. How about the swingin' big band, wholesome patriotism of a post wartime 1940's? Conjure up the bump and grind of a burgeoning Las Vegas in the 1950's. Perhaps you prefer the swagger and cool of the mod laced go-go craze of the 1960's?

From specifically themed shows, to corporate events, to eye candy and dancin' dollies for bands, the KGB have an extensive tickle trunk full of costumes, a girl for every mood, and more numbers than Albert freakin' Einstein would know what to do with. Introducing the belles of the ball; Cherry Whip, Whiskey Sour, Si Si Sirene , Lacey Gunsmoke, Daisy DeVille, Niara deMasque, Dusty Tops, emcee Holli Day and of course, our founder, Bunny Bunnotzi. A special thanks to our wardrobe mistress Gigi and our seamstress Ms Cherry Valance!

Camp, comedy, cabaret, glitz, glamour, farce, vaudeville, theatre, dancing, drinking, daring, risque, not raunchy...BURLESQUE...high class with sass entertainment Kabuki Guns style!!

Dirty Girls Social Club —  http://www.thedirtygirlsocialclub.com or http://www.myspace.com/dgscmusic

Organized and run by the members themselves, Calgary based DGSC provides an opportunity for guys and girls to come dance, sing and shout to infectious pop/rock grooves. The membership is a mixture of like minded musicians who found that in their ripened late 20’s they were dying to get back into the music scene and try desperately to be the young hipsters they once were. Although the hipster attempts often fail, the love, passion and excitement that comes from new music and great live shows is definitely what they remember. Although this type of club is normally extremely exclusive, the DGSC has an open members policy, which means anyone, guys or girls are welcome.

Club Requirements:
- Must Love all 80’s synth music - Must have an attraction to fishnets stockings (to wear or touch) - Must own at least one pair of sturdy hand cuffs - Must take part in pre and post show Jager shots - Must be willing to give up their life savings in order to record the most epic album ever! - Must love to dance, sing and be ridiculous in front of crowds both large and small - Must be willing to take part in cross country road trips, that involve being jammed in a 15 passenger van with mass amounts of equipment (damn synth players) whilst potentially listening to Britney Spears or the Moffats.( Cause sometimes that’s what happens when a bunch of girls go on road trips) - Although tattoos and piercings are not required, they sure are sexier, and will make your chances of hooking up with a female club member a lot more likely
