The Reckless Heroes formed in 2009, and after countless member changes
since their original formation the line-up now consists of front man and
rhythm guitarist Kevin Towill, lead shred artist and back up vocalist
Chris Saunders, human metronome/drummer Nolan Semenoff, and bassist
Danny "Decay" Daigle.
Since their formation, The Reckless Heroes have recorded two full length albums, False Starts &
Failed Attempts (2010) and Dark Times (2012), one EP, The Hardest Part
(2013), one single, Last Time/Jaded (2011), as well as being featured on
a compilation. With each subsequent release improving on and perfecting
the band's original sound, it’s no mystery as to why they have
progressed through the underground punk scene so quickly making The
Reckless Heroes a force to be reckoned with. In addition to their
releases, The Reckless Heroes have toured Western Canada multiple times.
As the sole song writer, Kevin Towill writes primarily about personal
issues dealing with the darker aspect of life, while drummer Nolan
Semenoff and bassist Danny Decay provide an extremely tight and heavy
rhythm section allowing lead guitarist Chris Saunders to work off the
rhythm to provide mind blowing riffs and solos with a heavy metal
styling, as well as adding occasional backing or co-lead vocals. The end
result is a unique brand of emotionally-driven high energy alternative
punk music with a touch of metal influence that is sure to leave you
banging your head and screaming for more!
Evolux (Medicine Hat Thrash band) https://www.facebook.com/pages/EVOLUX/163027220408724?id=163027220408724&sk=info
Evolux is a Canadian Thrash metal band, Started in October 2010 by
Brenden Wagner, Colton Charette, and Jared Harty. The first official
incarnation Featured Brenden on bass and lead vocal, Jared on lead and
rhythm guitars and Colton on drums. This line up was changed when Jared
and Brenden met Sam who secured his spot after sitting in on a lesson
with him. His neo thrash and progressive riffing had
a huge impact on the sound. In November it was discovered the Colton
was a far more capable singer than Wagner, leaving the drummer position
open and Colton moving to lead vocals.
Sam quickly brought in
his friend Taylor Towle, who played drums for us up until febuary 2011
when conflicts between his personal life made it impossible for him to
drum for us on a full time basis. Wagner looked up and old friend who
quickly jumped on the drums named Drayden Perner-Matthews, His heavy
groove influenced drums shattered the ceiling and thrust us into a brand
new position with our music.
This line up consisted and
played a couple shows in 2011 even coming in second at the high school
battle of the bands in Medicine hat. In summer of 2011 we were forced to
part ways with our guitarist Jared as his personal conflicts forced us
to sever our ties with him. We quickly brought Robert Byrde into the
fold who has adapted amazingly for his first ever band. At the beginning
of May 2012, Evolux closed out the battle of the bands in Medicine Hat,
making it a tie for first place, and earning a spot on the Zedfest
stage at Canada Day. Shortly after the show, the band parted ways with
Brenden due to personal and professional differences.
Evolux has remained a highly active band in the tail end of 2012 and throughout the entirety of 2013.
