Biography
Formed in mid 2009 from the ashes of the Allegations, Rex rose phoenix-like....

Ryan Dyck, Sean Simpson and Jeff Carlson added Mark De Georgio to the fold, and a few months later Mr. Sheldon Arvay came on the scene to round out the lineup.

Unfortunately, Rex and Sheldon parted ways in April of 2010, due to personal commitments.

 Glass Tiger http://www.glasstiger.ca/

In 2005 Glass Tiger marked 20 years of making music together. In celebration of this achievement, EMI Music released a retrospective DVD containing all of the original hit videos the band released in the 1980's and 90's along with 2 new videos and songs recorded especially for the DVD compilation.

Now in 2011 Glass Tiger continues to play select dates, only when all members of the band are available to perform. This makes every performance a special one. Alan's vocals are stronger than ever, and the band is tight and rockin'.

After 25 years together Glass Tiger has no plans to stop touring anytime soon. There's no doubt the upcoming gigs will be something special.

If you've never seen a GT live show, this is your chance to experience in person why GT has been one of Canada's most enduring bands for three decades. Fans who have enjoyed seeing the band live over the years say they are better now than ever. Find out for yourself!

It’s been almost twenty years since Glass Tiger first topped the charts, and they are still masters of creating, the great song. With the release of their 20th Anniversary DVD “No Turning Back Glass Tiger 1985-2005″, the band shows not only why they are indelibly etched into the annals of Canadian music history but also how their writing style still remains vibrant and meaningful for today’s music scene. Two brand new songs penned by Glass Tiger and original producer /collaborator Jim Vallance have found their way onto what is truly a Greatest Hits package. “Give It Away” and the vividly nostalgic “No Turning Back” seem to pack all that Glass Tiger is known for, strong beautifully crafted melodies and lyrics delivered with power-packed vocals and driving rhythms.

Discovered in the summer of 1984 when a band from Newmarket, Ontario called Tokyo spent two evenings performing before capacity crowds at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens opening for Boy George and Culture Club. Their dynamic original sound captured the moment, and the race to sign them was on. Tokyo, which had become a major force in suburban high schools and the Ontario club circuit, officially became Glass Tiger early the following year when a record deal was finally signed with Capitol Records.

With Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams; Aerosmith; Ozzy Osbourne) behind the boards Glass Tiger was immediately introduced to the recording studio to work on their first album. The Thin Red Line set a record for being the fastest selling debut recording in Canadian history, going gold within weeks of its release. To date, this album has received four Platinum records in Canada and went Gold in the United States. One of Glass Tiger’s many hit singles “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone)” yielded a #2 spot on Billboard that was followed by “Someday” which reached #5. Both songs also made Canadian history when Glass Tiger won successive Juno’s a year apart for Single of the Year from the same album.

With five Juno awards and a Grammy nomination under their belt, Glass Tiger was invited as the “Special Guests” for Tina Turner’s 1987 European tour.

Glass Tiger’s second release Diamond Sun, and third album, Simple Mission, solidified their reputation as being one of Canada’s better song crafters. Diamond Sun sported four charting singles: “Diamond Sun,” “I’m Still Searching,” “My Song,” and “(Watching) Worlds Crumble,” achieving Double Platinum status; while Simple Mission went Platinum, with “Animal Heart”, and the notable Celtic duet classic, “My Town”, which features the legendary Rod Stewart.

With such a colourful past – world tours, hit singles, millions sold, top producers, and sharing stages with some of the biggest acts of all time, one would think that this history could lead to complacency, stagnancy, or perhaps even cynicism in their approach today. Yet, as Alan Frew explains, those adjectives couldn’t be furthest from the truth. “Our writing is as strong as ever, with the same spark and verve that we had back when “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone)” was crafted. Our performances have never been tighter, and we are playing at the highest level. We are re-ignited, recharged and looking forward to every show.”

‘No Turning Back: 1985-2005′ is a collection of Glass Tiger’s biggest hits! Including all of the radio versions of their biggest hits along with some rarities & alternative versions, this new collection also includes two brand new songs ‘No Turning Back’ and ‘Give It Away’ that were just recorded for this release! Also available ‘No Turning Back’ DVD featuring 13 of the band’s best video performances and tons of bonus footage!
