The Left Behinds https://www.facebook.com/leftbehinds/info

Ryan Reese - Drums, percussion, guitar, vocals, bass.

Kathryn Smith - Vocals, guitars, harmonica, keyboards.

Greg Wilson - Guitars, vocals, harmonica, banjo.

We are The Left Behinds. We practice, we write, we play. We made an album! Hurray!
Biography
The band started when Dana asked Greg to play a song with her for a theatre piece. Then they started jamming and writing. Then Ryan came in to bang on drums. Then Dana moved away and we were sad. But then Kathryn said yes when the boys begged her to jam with them and it's been bliss ever since.
Description
We like crescendos and changing electric songs into acoustic ones and then back again.
Band Interests
We are all drama kids. We like to perform and design things. And sing too.

Biography
"Built with three solid musicians, My Mother the Carjacker has completed a diverse piece of art seeping pleasant, gritty and humourous sounds catering to a fluid audience that likes good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll and beyond. Live, MMCJ is uncaged, rabid and wild releasing a spoiled whirlwind of energy." -- VanMusic

"Genres are harder to define than ever. Avant-grunge, funk rock, and danger polka punk are just a few attempts at characterizing MMC’s sound with words. But they don’t care about creating a theme or focussing on a certain category. What they want is to generate music with unpredictability—the I’m-up-on-my-feet-and-moving-without-knowing-it kind of music." -- TheOtherPress

My Mother The Carjacker’s follow-through in creating music has always been a natural one. It’s all about having fun.

When the band first started jamming in 2009, genre was thrown out the window and all that was focused on was letting their inner energies flow with each other and projecting the end result to the audience. One could describe their music now as "Primus living with Redrick Sultan, plastering their walls with Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, Nirvana, and Pink Floyd posters and tripping out to Arctic Monkeys, Half Moon Run, and Snarky Puppy after a Ninjaspy concert." The constant shift in moods undeniably translate to an unforgettable live show and listening experience.

The band’s June 2012 self-titled debut EP, produced by Brody Mudryk (Conscience, The X Presidents) saw the band embark on a handful of mini-tours in Canada, produce 2 music videos, and a slew of local shows. Through their efforts, the band has grown a diverse following with their quirky brand of alternative punk rock. If you can even call it that...

After a successful Kickstarter campaign in Fall 2013, the band took the funding to undergo the creation of their upcoming full length release. "...or of Something Else" is a self-produced, 12 song album that sees the band unrestrained and truly showing their creative breadth at this point in their career. The ecletic basket of music will be released August 19, 2014 followed by a cross Canada tour in support of the album. Promotional videos are currently in production to support the release.
